Concrete Crack Repairs

Effective concrete crack repair requires detailed assessment, correct diagnosis, and the selection of an appropriate repair methodology. NCS adopts a structured, project-specific approach to ensure each crack is evaluated based on its cause, condition, exposure environment, and structural performance requirements.

NCS is experienced in delivering crack repair solutions for both wet and dry conditions, addressing structural, durability, and waterproofing objectives. Our methodologies are selected to restore structural integrity, control water ingress, and prevent further deterioration, while extending the service life of the asset.

NCS provides specialist assessment, risk review, and implementation of a wide range of crack repair systems, including but not limited to:

  • Crystalline technology
  • Polyurethane injection repairs
  • Epoxy injection systems
  • Ultrafine cementitious repair methods
  • Active leak treatment systems
  • Epoxy crack repair solutions
  • Polyurethane caulking and sealing

All crack repair works are undertaken in accordance with relevant Australian Standards, manufacturer specifications, and project-specific requirements, ensuring compliant, durable, and long-term repair outcomes.

Heavy Duty Performance Coatings

Protective coatings play a critical role in the long-term durability and remediation of concrete structures. Their effectiveness is determined by their composition and ability to prevent the ingress of moisture, chemicals, and other aggressive elements that can cause concrete deterioration. Concrete is particularly vulnerable to chlorides, carbon dioxide, sulphates, acids, salts, and other environmental or chemical agents that compromise structural integrity.

Coatings are applied to both new and existing structures to enhance durability, protect against future deterioration, and extend service life. They are particularly important for structures exposed to harsh, aggressive, or industrial environments, or where the original concrete quality is low.

NCS adopts a systematic approach to coating selection, beginning with a detailed durability analysis and evaluation of potential remedial or protective systems. This ensures the chosen solution is fit-for-purpose, addressing the specific environmental and operational conditions of each asset.

NCS is experienced in applying a wide range of protective coating systems, including but not limited to:

  • Crystalline technology
  • Polymer-modified cementitious materials
  • Polyurethane resins
  • Acrylic resins (including decorative and anti-carbonation coatings)
  • Epoxy resins
  • Bituminous materials
  • Chlorinated rubber coatings
  • And other specialist systems tailored to project requirements

All coating applications are carried out in accordance with relevant Australian Standards, manufacturer specifications, and project-specific requirements, ensuring optimal protection, compliance, and long-term performance.

Joint Systems and Sealing

Concrete structures incorporate a variety of joints, including construction joints, expansion joints, contraction joints, and isolation joints. NCS’s highly experienced team is skilled in assessing joint conditions and specifying appropriate solutions for all jointing requirements. Each application is evaluated individually, with consideration given to movement requirements, environmental exposure, and any project-specific criteria. Where necessary, external engineering advice is incorporated to ensure optimal performance and compliance.

Different joint systems offer varying movement capabilities and resistance to aggressive or chemical environments. Drawing on extensive experience, technical review, and strong industry relationships, NCS provides informed recommendations to deliver the most suitable, durable, and compliant joint solutions for your facility.

Structural Strengthening

Structural strengthening involves upgrading an existing structure’s components or overall system to improve performance under current loads or to increase capacity for additional loads. The need for strengthening can arise from factors such as deterioration, changes in use, updates to building codes or standards, structural defects, construction errors, or seismic considerations.

Each structure presents a unique challenge, requiring tailored solutions that balance safety, durability, and performance. Whether for commercial, civil, industrial structures, or bridges, NCS delivers industry-leading technologies and methods to meet project-specific requirements.

Our structural strengthening capabilities include the application of externally bonded Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) systems, which significantly enhance a structure’s load-bearing capacity. NCS is experienced in applying a variety of FRP wraps and laminate strips, providing high-performance, durable solutions for structures requiring strengthening while maintaining structural integrity and compliance with relevant standards.
